Fletcher ~ Wylma ''Red'' Tweed Mickalunas, 80, of 1225 Cane Creek Road, died Thursday, April 4, 2002 at her residence.

A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Mickalunas was the daughter of the late Jenny Hensley Tweed and Hamilton Tweed. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Mickalunas, who died in 2001, two sisters, Susan Lloyd and Nelle McFarland and two brothers, J.H. Tweed and Roy Lee Tweed.

Mrs. Mickalunas was an inspector for CTS Corporation for 33 years and was a member of Tweeds Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Ann Lindsey of Fletcher; two brothers, Thomas Tweed of Enka and William Howard Tweed of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with Reverend Barry Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in Tweeds Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
