James Dedrick Hensley

James Dedrick "Sonny Boy" Hensley, 71, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at his sister's home, 32 Freno Drive, Asheville. Mr. Hensley was born in Madison County and was a son of Edna Jane Church Hensley of Marshall and the late Millard Seal Hensley. He was a former resident of Michigan where he retired from Dathen Machine Co. in Frasier, MI. He attended First Free Will Baptist Church in Marshall. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Pam Cairnes of Hendersonville and Tracey Hensley of Nevada; two sons, Jim Hensley of Hendersonville and Deuane Hensley of Detroit, MI; five sisters, Christine Radford of Marshall, Hattie "Jo" Elliott of Asheville, Geneva Rice and her husband Don of Mars Hill, Ruby Roberts of Marshall and Selma "Sam" Dobbins and her husband Harry of Blountville, TN; one brother, Paul Luther Hensley and his wife Sue B. of Hendersonville; five grandchildren and several great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday at First Free Will Baptist Church, Marshall, NC. Memorials may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, Main Street, Marshall, NC 28753. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
