Hilda Althea Seay Wilkins, 73, of 75 Avondale Road, Asheville, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002, at her residence.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of Joe B. and Althea Lyda Seay. She was a teacher with the public school system and had previously taught at Lee Edwards High in Asheville.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Rufus Wilkins; a daughter, Sara Ann Wilkins Marklin of Asheville; a son, Scott Wilkins of Asheville; a sister, Florence Robinson of Boone and a granddaughter, Sydney Wilkins of Asheville.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Friday at Shepherd Memorial Park with the Reverend Terry Duckworth officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Sara Ann Marklin, 57 Avondale Road, Asheville.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3 Louisiana Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806.

I have fond memories as a child of running through the sunflower patch and garden at Pappy’s house in Asheville when spending time with my Great Aunt Hilda and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
