Asheville Butterfly TrailA native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Connelly was the daughter of the late Sidney and Sally Riddle Stone and wife of the late Nelson William Connelly, who died in 1977.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret E. Connelly of the home and Evelyn C. Dalton of Mills River; two sons, William N. Connelly of Keystone Heights, Fla. and James R. Connelly of Mills River; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and twenty-four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Evangelist John Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Christian Church Building Fund, 339 Avery’s Creek Road, Arden, NC 28704.
