  3. We were sorry to hear about Shannon’s death. He came to our
Barton Reunion in the early 2000s.
I remember he enjoyed all the breakfast food we served. He was hungry after driving from Asheville. I am glad we got to meet him. Dot and Ken Chewning

  4. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Fay, Paula, and family. Although I never met Shannon, I feel I knew him through his sister, Fay, who loves him so. Shannon was instrumental in helping me, though Fay, in pursuing assistance from a different neurologist involved with a serious health issue. It was from their encouragement that I was able to overcome a year long cycle of nerve pain. I am indeed grateful to a man I never met.

  14. Paula, I thought you would like to see what I wrote to the members of our subgroup that now numbers 26. Shannon was a great man. ‘To those in the subgroup who knew Shannon, he was a true giant among our partners. He was someone who always told you the unvarnished truth, but with a Southern Gentlemans charm, and always did the right thing himself. He was great at M&Ms taking no lame excuses and always trying to figure out how to avoid the same outcome if we had it to do again. He was the ‘socialist’ who helped push for our subgroup pooling our income in order to avoid the unseemly game of jockeying for an insurance case. This was a precursor to ASMGs pooled unit.
When he left for his home in the South he was sorely missed. He will be missed again.
    Alex’
