Asheville Butterfly TrailA native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Deaver was a daughter of the late Albert and Myrtle Henderson Young. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Young and Marie Volerath. Mrs. Deaver was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and formerly employed by C.P. Clare.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Rickert and her husband, Bill Sturgis of Fletcher; a son, Mack Deaver and his wife, Nancy of Arden; two sisters, Madeline Mitchell of Asheville and Geneva Sales of Gatlinburg, TN; two brothers, Bill Young of Asheville and Bob Young of Pigeon Forge, TN, and three grandchildren, Mark Eller, Matthew Eller and Micah Eller.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 3 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Interment will follow in Tweed’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.

Bert, I love you and will always treasure the many wonderful times I had as a child spent with you. Shooting the 410, feeding the chickens, shooting roman candles, and going to Dotson’s store. You were wonderful and we miss you. Love Dick
