Janette Miller Davis

Mrs. Davis was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Tindle and Gertrude Smith Miller. She was married to Jack Davis who died in 1991.
She was an active lifelong member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church where she taught the Primary Class for many years and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed writing poetry.
She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Peek and her husband Neal of Asheville; two sons, Rex Davis and his wife Peggy of Asheville and Larry Davis and his wife Eddie of Franklin; two sisters, Inez Davis and Barbara Gosnell of Candler; one brother, Bill Miller of Candler; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Oak Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kimberly Higgins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the home of Wanda and Neal Peek, 23 Daniel Road.
