Edith Birchfield Dills

EDITH LUCILLE DILLS Edith Lucille Birchfield Dills, 90, died Friday, October 26, 2001, at Flesher’s Fairview Nursing Center. Mrs. Dills was born in Haywood County and was a daughter of the late Lee Turner and Eliza Reece Birchfield. She was also preceded in death by a son, George Dills, Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Jenkins of Fairview and one son, Charles (Doc) Dills of Fairview; one sister, Julie Sorrells of Canton; three brothers, Harry Birchfield of Morganton, Howard Birchfield of Lincolnton, and Lawrence Birchfield of Canton; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great- great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Cane Creek Cemetery with the Revs. Todd Royal and Carroll Ingle officiating. Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the home of Denise Haney and Doc Dills.
