Asheville Butterfly TrailMrs. Ramey was born in Towns County, GA and was a daughter of the late Johnny and Caroline Shook McKeehan.
She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Ramey; three daughters, Hester Boone and Bennie Faye Ramsey of Asheville and Hansel Roberts of River Rouge, MI; one nephew, L.J. McKin; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Russell Gillespie and Dan Stephenson officiating. Her family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mrs. Ramey will be taken to Bannister Funeral Home in Hiawassee, GA where a second service will be at 2:00 pm Friday at Many Forks Baptist Church in the Gum Log section near Hiawassee, GA with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ramey will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Our deepest sympathies are with the family. Celebrate her life and just remember all the wisdom that she has given you over the years, there is much comfort there.
Mrs. Ramey was a good person. She was always nice to me and acted as if I was one of her own. I regret my being so slack in coming by to say ‘Hi’ every now and then, but I thought of her often.My heart goes out to Bennie,Hester and Hansel. I know how hard it is to loose your mother.
