Don E. Duckett, 75, of 31 Duckett Road, Candler, died Sunday, September 30, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Duckett was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Arthur Lee and Nettie Irene Lance Duckett. He was married to Mary Dobson Duckett who died in 1999. He was a Marine Corps veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict and was retired from the Air Weather Wing, US Government. He was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one sister and brother-in-law, Wylladene and Malcolm Nelson of Chicago, IL and one brother and sister-in-law, Forest and Lucille Duckett of Travelers Rest, SC.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Enoch Ball, Jr. and Kim Higgins officiating.

His family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 am Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and request that memorials be made to the Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 277 Oak Hill Road, Candler, NC 28715.
