Ella Elizabeth Cowart Clemmons

Mrs. Clemmons was born in Henderson County and was a daughter of the late Shepard and Nancy Fisher Cowart. She was married to William McDowell Clemmons who died in 1985 and was also preceded in death by a son, Larry E. Clemmons. She retired in 1975 from the Grove Park Inn and she was a member of Mudd Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Ronnie Barnes, Barbara and Howard Stills and Darlene and Larry Morris; four sons, Charles W. Clemmons, Jack G. Clemmons, Harry H. Clemmons and Douglas M. Clemmons and his wife Billie, All of Asheville, 28 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral home with the Revs. Larry Marshall and Jim Whitted officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at 11 Pine Meadows Drive.
