Perry M. Taylor

He was a native of Fairview and was the son of the late Ralph Eugene and Maggie Thelma Marlow Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carol Skene Taylor, an infant son, and his brother, Glen Ralph Taylor. He retired from the Navy in March, 1974, after twenty years of service to his country.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Daniel Taylor of Fairview; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma Louise and Richard Charnock of Waverly, TN and Merry Margaret and Paul Fontaine of Arden; his sister-in-law Edith Taylor of Athol, Idaho; four nephews, four nieces, and many great-nephews and great-nieces.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at Nesbitt’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Barry Sutton and Ernest Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wade Charnock, Mike Fontaine, Robert ''Doc'' Hill, Briggs Nichols, Wallace Owenby and Charles Rogers.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, 72 Long Shoals Road, Arden, and at other times will be at the family home, 895 Garren Creek Road, Fairview.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nesbitt’s Chapel Cemetery Fund, c/o Sarah Cauble, 103 Caubleville Drive, Fletcher, NC 28732, or to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
