Willie Bryte Self Beam, 95, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Aston Park Health Care Center after a long period of declining health. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Beam Cloninger and husband Don; a son, Doyle Beam and wife Kathy; brother, Allen Self; two grandchildren, Matthew Lawson and wife Heather, and Erika Beam Woolford and husband Rick; three great-grandchildren, Abreea, Brittanie, and Dakota Lawson; sister-in-law, Jean Self; nieces, Gwen Self and Lana Self Muehling and husband Richard. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Evon Self, and Glenn Self and his wife Ruth. Willie was a zealous Jehovah's Witness. She is now asleep in death, in God's memory, awaiting a resurrection to a paradise earth as promised in Psalms 37:9-11 and repeated Again by the Son of God, Jesus Christ, in his Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5:5. The family is extremely thankful for the excellent care given to Willie by the skilled and caring staff at Aston Park Health Care Center, and to Carol Schroeder, Family Nurse Practitioner, who oversaw her care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aston Park Health Care Center, 380 Brevard Rd., Asheville, NC 28806. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 25 Forest Lake Drive, in South Asheville.
