Asheville Butterfly TrailA native of Buncombe County, he was a son of Alma Louise Blackwell Wright of Parigould, Arkansas and of the late Frank Eugene Wright. He was preceded in death by his son, James Frank Wright, who died in 1990. He was married to Mary Lou Wright for 37 years. Mr. Wright was a second shift supervisor at Strawberry Hill Press with 27 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Surviving in addition to his mother is a son, John Wright and his wife Maureen of Asheville; three sisters, Henrietta Whitted of Greenville,TN, Judy Dulaney of Parigould, Arkansas and Sandra Monosmith of Perth, Australia; two grandchildren, John Dwayne Wright and Amber Renee Wright.
Services will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Rev. Frank Cantrell officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Churchyard.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
My only brother – gone too soon.

My prayers go out to the family,I worked with Gene at Strawberry Hill for 15 years he will be missed.
