Doris Penland Baker

Mrs. Baker was born in Asheville and was a daughter of the late Alexander M. and Ruth Howell Penland. She was married to James R. “Ham” Baker who died in 1993 and was also preceded in death by three sisters.

Mrs. Baker was retired after 40 years with American Enka.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Lamb of Anaheim, CA and Russell Lamb of Crestwood, KY; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating.

Her family will receive friends at 10:00 am Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
