F. Earl Smith

A native of Rocky Mount, NC, he was the son of the late David Morton Smith and Cammie Forest Smith.

He was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church and a retired employee of Overnite Transportation Co. He was an Army veteran of W.W. II and a member and past master of the Blackmer Masonic Lodge, No. 170 and a member of the Oasis Shrine Temple.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Elsie Newsom Smith; two sons, Bill Smith of Winterville, Ga. and Carlton Smith of Huntsville, Ala.; two grandsons, Adam and Nathan Smith; a sister, Marion Wright of Winston-Salem and a brother, Donald Smith of Spartanburg, SC.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Monday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Ian Walker. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.
