Maudie Sprouse Harwood

Maudie Sprouse Harwood, 90, of 112 Louisiana Ave., Asheville, died Saturday, march 17, 2001 in a local hospital. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Zora Black Sprouse. She was also preceded in death by her husband Carmel Harwood. Mrs. Harwood is survived by her son and daughter- in-law, Raymond and Dessie Harwood of Asheville; a brother Rome Sprouse; a special cousin Arthur Harwood and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Rev. Vince Keith and brother Ernest Gibson will officiate with burial following in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
