Hellen Stevens Parris

Hellen S. Parris, 88, of 2127 New Leicester Highway, Asheville, died Monday, December 25, 2000, in an Asheville hospital. Mrs. Parris was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late J.W. and Florence Glance Stevens. She was married to Paul F. Parris who died April 8, 1999. She was a member of Leicester United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Home Extension Club. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Parris Brakefield of Leicester, two grandchildren, Kelly Fife and Jennifer Coughlin, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Leicester United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Patzfahl officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
