Frederick C. Williams, Jr.

Mr. Williams was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Frederick C. and Jessie Netherton Williams, Sr. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Cagle Williams who died in 1995 and was also preceded in death by a son, Frederick C. Williams III, a brother, Harold Williams, and a sister Juanita Walsh. He was a member of the Army Medical Corps during WW II and was retired from the Newport News, VA, Ship Building and Dry Dock Co. More recently he worked at Camp Blue Ridge in Mountain City, GA.

He is survived by three sisters, Justine Miller of Candler, Laura Bryson of Asheville and Nickie Williams of North Miami Beach, FL, and two brothers, Jack Williams of Newport News, VA and Bob Williams of Hampton, VA.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Revs. Boyd McClaren and Darrell McClaren officiating.

His family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:30 pm Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
