Ruth M. Walters

Mrs. Walters was born in Waterford, PA, grew up in Erie, PA, and spent most of her adult life in Cleveland, OH, where she raised two children and spent many years as cashier and hostess at the Colonnade Cafeterias. Later she became a department manager for Halle Bros. Department Store in Cleveland and retired after more than twenty years of service.

Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Walters. She came to Asheville in 1986 to be near her daughter and son-in-law who lived here at the time. After several years at Givens Estates, Mrs. Walters moved to the Rickman Health Care Center.

She is survived by a son, George M. Walters of Florida; a daughter, Norma W. Beaumont of Alabama; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Heights. OH.
