Albert Richard Ellison

Albert Ellison, 83, of 99 Frances St., Asheville, died Thursday, July 27, 2000 in a local nursing facility. A native of Anderson SC, he was a son of the late Joe and Ina Holland Ellison. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Mullikin Ellison and a sister Helen Hirsh. He was a Army Veteran of WW II and owner operator of Al’s Art Craft. He was a member of the West Asheville Business Association and Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by four daughters, Linda Hill of Asheville, Shelby Campbell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Ann Finley, Williamston, SC, Jane Webb of Fountain Inn, SC; two sons, Rick Ellison of Asheville, James “Bud” Ellison of Belton, SC; a sister, Dena Mae Owens of Williamston, SC; two brothers, James “Doc” Ellison of Asheville, Louie Ellison of Williamston, SC; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Roy and Linda Hill, 114 Wood Avenue, Oakley.
