Carrie Lee Howell Nifong, 93, formerly of Clinton Avenue, Asheville, died Friday, April 28, 2000, in an Arden nursing center.
Mrs. Nifong was a daughter of the late Lee and Nettie Howell and was married to Robert E. Nifong who died in 1968. She was a former school teacher and retired from American Enka. She was a member of West Asheville Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three sisters, Sadie Brookshire of Asheville, Lynette Mastin of Greensboro, and Genevieve Roberts of Canton, and a number of nieces and nephews and great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
