RENIE LOU KING SHARPE
Renie Lou King Sharpe,
91, of 3277 New Leicester highway,
Leicester, died Friday, October 3,
2003, in an Asheville hospital.
Mrs. Sharpe was born in
Buncombe County and was a
daughter of the late Claude and Lela
Ledbetter King. She was married to
the late Willie Sharpe, who died in
1995, and she was a member of
Beulah Baptist Church.
Surviving are two
daughters, Pauline Penland of
Leicester and Gerelene Hodge of
Rutherfordton; two sons, Wilburn
Sharpe of Leicester and William
Sharpe of Canton; a sister Kizzie
Messer of Leicester; a brother
Herman King of Leicester; nine
grandchildren, eleven
great-grandchildren, nine
great-great-grandchildren, four
step-grandchildren, eleven
step-great-grandchildren, and seven
step-great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 6:00 pm
Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel
of Groce Funeral Home with the
Revs. Claude Surrett, Joe Sellars and
Paul Sluder officiating. Interment will
be at 4:00 pm Sunday at Beulah
Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive
friends at the funeral home Saturday
evening immediately following the
service.

Renie was a very special lady and my Mother’s friend. As a young girl, I visited, with My family, Mike, Hilda & Virginia, Renie and Willie many times. So glad I saw her two years ago at Beulah’s Homecoming and took her picture with her sister Kizzie and talked with them. You have our prayers during you time of grief. May God Bless you.
