Pegge Rice Vines

Mrs. Vines was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Elzie R. Rice. She was a retired teacher at the Juvenile Evaluation Center, Black Mountain.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy Lee and Tom Lewakowski of Thornton, CO; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack V. and Grace Vines of Matthews, NC; her mother, Cassie Rhymer Rice of Asheville; three grandchildren, Genevieve, Lauren and Julia; and two sisters, Polly R. Adams of West Melbourne, FL and Brenda Murray of Asheville.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Wesley Sharpe officiating.

Private burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 9 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
