Jess Willard Morrison

Mr. Morrison was a native of Shelby and was the son of the late Tom Morrison and the late Addie Hullett Morrison Williams. He was a driver for Trailways Bus Co. for 42 years and was a member of Oakley Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances Mashburn Morrison; two daughters, Shea Rhodes of Asheville and Helen Wright of Hickory; a son, Arlo Morrison of Cherryville; a sister, Bessie Hudson of Cherryville; two grandchildren, Jerry Morrison of Cherryville and Sandie Price of Hickory, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas A. Pierce officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to Oakley Baptist Church, 70 Fairview Avenue, Asheville, NC 28803.
