RALPH E. PRESLEY ARDEN ~ Ralph Edward Presley, 73, of Arden, died unexpectedly Monday, August 2, 2010 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Anthony "Hutch" Littleton Presley and Eleanor Mallory Presley. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Margaret James and four brothers, Roy, Harry, John and Charles Presley. Ralph was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Joan Christiansen Presley; one daughter, Connie Perkins and her husband, Todd, of Charlotte; one son, Stan Presley and his wife, Kim, of Arden; one brother, Paul Presley of Arden and six grandchildren, David and Elizabeth Presley, Britton Phipps, Daniel Ergle and Jackson and Mary Perkins. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Calvary Episcopal Church in Fletcher with the Father Victor Mansfield officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:30 PM on Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.

  6. Regretfully, I haven’t seen or talked to Ralph for a few years. I nonetheless share the deep sense of loss that I’m certain everyone who knew him feels at this time. Ralph was a great man who loved his family and his circle of friends. He displayed a enjoyment of life that we should all strive to emulate. I’ll miss him greatly.

  8. My thoughts and prayers are with the Family. Although I did not have the privilege of knowing Ralph, my brothers Ray, Charles, Earl, Tommy, and especially Carroll, thought the world of him and this is a deep loss for them. Their memories of him will be with them forever.

  10. It has been a long time since I saw Ralph but he was certainly one of those people who touch our lives that we never forget. Ralph was the best, when I was leaving the area Ralph headed up the task of getting a watch for me and having it engraved, I still have and cherish that watch, and will always thinking of Ralph when I wear it.

    I am very sorry for the loss his family and friends are feeling. Ralph will be missed, may he rest in peace.
