Asheville – Vaughan James Fox, 80, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the VA Medical Center. He was the son of the late Belvia Ponder and Denver Fox and was a retired employee of the NCDMV. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Thompson; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; one uncle; two aunts and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Elk Valley Baptist Church in Banner Elk with the Reverends Bill Ponder and Rothy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 12 until 1:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

    Deidra and I have delivered Meals on Wheels to Mr. Fox on Wednesday for over a year. We enjoyed the time we spent with him. He always had a smile for us and a story or two on days when he was feeling well. Mr. Fox was very fond of Deidra. He said she reminded him of his daugther. Mr. Fox is breathing easy now peace and prayers to his family.

  4. JUST A NOTE TO SEND PRAYERS FOR THOSE WHO FEEL THE LOSS OF UNCLE VAUGHNS PASSING. KNOWING THAT HE IS NO LONGER SICK AND NEW AGAIN IN HEAVEN IS A PEACEFUL FEELING.
