Joe Willis Thompson

Mr. Thompson was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Herb Thompson and the late
Etta DeVore Thompson Ostren.  He was a veteran of WW II and was a self-employed concrete finisher.

He is survived by his wife, Lily O’Kelly Thompson;  three daughters, Mary Etta Parton of Mills River, and Rachel Thompson and Debra Jones of Greenville, SC;  a son, Bill Thompson of Mills River;  a step-daughter, Nancy Suddreth of
Candler;  two brothers, Allan Thompson of Copras Cove, TX and Paul Thompson of Seattle, WA;  his
step-father, Dick Ostren of Seattle, WA;  nine grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral
Home with the Rev. Bobby Winebarger officating.  Burial will be at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery.

His family will receive
friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
