Keith Allen Thomas, 80, of Fieldstone Ct., Arden, died on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at VA Medical Center.
Born on January 20, 1930 in Asheville, Mr. Thomas was a son of the late Arthur and Bonnie Thomas. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Sawyer Toates, and Noah Utter.
As a member of the U.S. Armed Services, Mr. Thomas loved and served God and his country.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruth B. Thomas, of Arden, daughters, Renée Toates and husband Joel, of Greenville, SC, and Tobie Utter, of Arden; son, Terry Thomas and wife Kim, of Asheville; stepson, Eddie Wilde and wife Karen, of Candler; sister, Clara Bryant, of Asheville; brother, Jr. Thomas, of Asheville; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His faith and love for God lives on in his children and grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mr. Thomas will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Words of Life Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Carl Bishop, Mr. Gerald Wilkie and Mr. Bruce Utter officiating. Interment will follow in the church's cemetery.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting his family.
