MSgt. Harold Eugene Broomfield

December 13, 1926 ~ September 13, 1999

MSgt. Harold Eugene Broomfield, USAF (Ret.), 72, of Candler, died peacefully Monday, September 13, 1999, in an Asheville hospital.

MSgt. Broomfield was born in Kansas City and was a son of the late James William and Julia Frances Eldridge Broomfield. He retired after 22 years in the Air Force where he served in the Pacific Theater, WW II, and Japan. He had lived in Buncombe County for 12 years.

He was a wonderful
husband and loving father and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doris Halton Broomfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bryan Williams; a son, Russell Broomfield; and a
brother Charles Broomfield.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Private interment will be at the Western Carolina State Veterans
Cemetery.

His family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service
Saturday afternoon.
