Mrs. Johnson was born September 3, 1910 in Buncombe County to the late Oscar and Hattie Hunter Edmonds. She was married to the late James
H. Fisher, and was also preceded in death by a son, James E. Fisher.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary E. Portwood and Peggy Ann Robinson of Candler; a brother, Oscar Edmonds of South Carolina, and 16
grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Sams and Roy Houston officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Mausoleum.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Starnes Cove Baptist Church Sound System.
Granny, We will miss you, but we know you are where you’ve wanted to be for so long. We love you.
Mrs. Johnson was like a second mother to me.
