Victor Grady Farmer, 63, of Skyland, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center after a long battle with cancer.
Victor was a native of Cherokee County, NC and was the son of the late Grady Harse and Estelle Bryson Farmer. He was a graduate of T.C. Roberson High School, Columbia Bible College and Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era from 1966-1970.
He was a commercial bus driver for a number of years. He and his parents were charter members of Arden First Baptist Church, where he had served in the youth and bus ministry. He was a former Sunday school teacher and served in many organizations of the church. Although he had no children, he left a legacy in the lives of many children and adults.
Surviving is his loving wife, Mary Lou Farmer and several cousins from Burlington, Mt. Holly and Marble, NC
Services for Victor will be held Monday at 3:00 pm at Arden First Baptist Church with the Reverends Jeffrey Hudson and Scott Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mary Lou, I was so sorry to hear of Victor’s death.I knew him since he was a child in Marble.May God bless and comfort you in your loss. I am so glad that Vic had you to be with him.
victor was in my singles class and he was always a gentleman and such a great guy, I am sorry I did not get to spend more time with him, he will be missed very much.
