Martha Smith Green

November 17, 1927 ~ June 30, 1999

Martha Jean Smith Green, 71, of 499 Cowan Cove Rd., Asheville, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999 at her residence.

A native of Haywood County,she was a daughter of the late Archie Smith Sr. and Valree Summey Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Wiliam H. Green and was a retired employee of Sky City.

She is survived by a very special friend Frank Penland of the home; two sisters Ina Allen and Dorothy Bowman; a brother Archie Smith Jr. all of Asheville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Allen and Bishop James D. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with nephews being palbearers.

Her family will receive friends 7-8:30 Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence, 499 Cowan Cove Rd.
