Nellie H. Spivey
January 18, 1929 ~ June 15, 1999
Asheville Butterfly TrailA lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was raised by her late grandparents, James & Eliza House, and was the daughter of the late Maude Alice House McCampbell.
She had been a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church since 1954, and attended the Asheville Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Herman A. Spivey; two sons, James Timothy Spivey of Fletcher and Rodney Dale Spivey of Arden; three sisters, Betty Marshall of Charlotte, Mary Cline of Collierville, Tennessee and Sara Bishop of Asheville; one brother, Roy McCampbell of Leesburg, Florida; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 18th at 11 a.m. at the Asheville Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Daryl Marley officiating. Burial will follow in the Tweed's Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian where Mrs. Spivey will remain until being placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.
