Melvin Theodore Rhodes, Jr.

Asheville Butterfly TrailMr. Rhodes was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Melvin Theodore and Kathleen Davis Rhodes, Sr. He was an Army veteran.
He is survived by a sister, Ann Mull of Asheville; four nieces and nephews, Debbie Freeman, Donna Orr, Charlie Fowler, and Buffy Fowler; and a special friend, Hilda E. Hollier.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Lawing officiating. Burial will be in the Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to Rivendell Woods Assisted Living Center, Hornot Circle, Asheville, NC 28806.
