Evelyn C. Smith

Mrs. Smith was born in Elizabeth City and was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Moore, Sr., in 1962, and by a son, John T. Moore, Jr.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Asheville.

She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Moore Jackson and her husband Jim of Coatesville, IN;  a son, Frank W. Moore, and his wife Nancy, of Candler;  a sister, Dorothy Mote of Hialeah, FL;  six grandchidlren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Barry Lambert officiating.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to First Baptist Church or to Oak Forest Presbyterian Church.
