Frances "Tetty" G. King, 96, of the Bent Creek Community, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at her residence. Mrs. King was born in Buncombe Co. on November 29, 1913. She resided in the Bent Creek Community for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Robert and Eva Lance Gasperson. The mother of seven children, it was always important to keep her family together. Her husband, Joseph Paul King, died three months prior to the birth of her youngest child. She made a home and provided for her children under these dire circumstances. Her interests beyond her family were gardening, reading, and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her daughters, Ina Mae Foster, of Asheville, Sandra Henson, of Candler, and Joyce Propest and husband William, of Asheville; son, Robert King, of Autumn Care, Saluda, NC; sister, Gladys Rogers; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Pauline Searsey, and Janice Davis; one son, James Paul King; four sisters, Alice, Estelle, Virginia, and Teddy; and three brothers, Donald, Watson, and Harry. A funeral service for Mrs. King will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Bridges officiating. Interment will be at Bent Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times will be at the home of Mrs. King's daughter, Joyce Propest, 509 Pole Creasman Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  6. I am so sorry to hear about your Mother passing. When I think of her I think of the Golden Circle Sunday School Class at Bent Creek, my mother was in the class with Francis. So many memories.
