Emma Genevieve Gibson

Emma Genevieve Reece Gibson, 77, of 440 Hazel Mill Road, Asheville, died Wednesday, February 24, 1999, in an Asheville hospital.

Mrs. Gibson was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late George C. and Annie Alexander Corn.  She was married to the late Rufus Reece and the late Willis Gibson.  She was a member of Woodland Terrace Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Lee, Betty Calloway, Alma Williams, Emma Sue Cochran, and Kathy Penland;  two brothers, Roy Reece and Paul Reece;  a sister, Eva Sue Payne;  23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. David Gosnell and  David Eubanks officiating.  Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 7 – 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to WKJV Radio, 70 Adams Hill Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
