Karen Jean Austin

Karen was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of Beverly and Jerry Chism.  She was a cosmetologist at Regis Hair Stylist and was a member of Sycamore Temple Church.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Chism, in 1986.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Kyle Austin;  a daughter, Aerial Austin;  a son, Kaeghan Austin, a sister, Kathy  Chism, a brother, Charles T. Chism, and by her grandmother, Mildred Steele.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Sycamore Temple with the Rev. Samuel L. Payne, Jr., officiating.  Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
