Leonard G. Shuler, 72, of Ford Valley Rd., Weaverville, died on Monday, February 22, 2010, at his residence.
A South Carolina native, Mr. Shuler was a son of the Harley and Lelia Johnson Shuler.
He was a retired truck driver.
Mr. Shuler is survived by his sons, David Shuler and wife Debbie, of Weaverville, and Allen Shuler and wife Mary Jane, of Candler; brother, James Shuler, of Candler; one grandchild, three step-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service for Mr. Shuler will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with CarePartners Hospice Chaplain Rev. Dr. Buddy N. Corbin officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of the family. There are so many wonderful memories of Uncle Leonard. Just being able to come visit from time to time and have the chance to sit down and listen to him tell stories of every event that ever happened was a blessing. One that will stay with us all. Now he can soar with wings of angels in the highest.Love and prayers go out to you all.
I am so sorry I will not be able to make it due to my work. I am on the road this week. But I want to let you know that you are in my prayers. I have alot of great memories of Uncle Leonard and wanted to let everyone know that I love each and every one of you. I send my Sympathy and regret that I can not be there. Our condolences and heart go out to Uncle Leonard’s family. I will miss talking to him about growing up with Mama & Papa. He always told you he loved you first at goodbyes. His faith in our Lord Jesus Christ was a testimony in itself. David and Allen, our fathers are with their Heavenly Father and we will see them again. Take care and God Bless.

I will always remember the trips to see everyone down in n.c.Uncle leanard was so very kind and loving everytime we were down there to visit.My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.The joys and all the times of seeing him i will never forget.The most joy i will have is ,knowing he was a part of my life and my son’s lives.
