Dear Betty and family, A total shock when Mary Dot just told me of Keith’s passing! We loved Keith, Betty and your whole family. Springside Park has never been the same since your family moved and all the children grew up and are now raising their families. We had so much fun on the street with all of you. I can type only 1000 characters, but we could write a book on Keith and your family. He loved all of you dearly and talked of you often. Yes the same guy that would talk so little and was so quite talked all the time about each of you! He loved his work with all the Gerber people and he kept our street looking beautiful! Mary Dot and our family will keep each of you in our thoughts and prayers. Rest assured Keith is in heaven and his green thumb is already at work! God’s peace be with all of you. We are so thankful that we looked Keith and Betty up and went for a great visit only a few weeks ago.
Mariann and family,
I was so saddened to hear of the loss of one so dearly loved. My heart goes out to you and your precious family. Wish I could have been there to support you. With the bad weather I was snowbound without power and internet, so I just found out this morning about your dad. May the Lord strengthen you all and give you peace.

Mariann and Family,
May you find comfort in the memories that will be with you always and may God’s peace surround you in this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Betty,
Sadness beyond description to lose one who was such a part of you, for not only has he died but a part of you left with him. We saw you dear people as two parts of a whole, rather than just separate individuals. Keith was a sweet, gentle, man we were privileged to have as a friend, who continues to walk among us by leaving a part of himself in all of us.
Love, Virginia/Jim Keller
Dear Haisley Family,
My father, Chuck Benes worked with Keith at Gerber until his own retirement in 1983. He always referred to Keith with the utmost respect and friendship. He was extremely proud of Keith’s contribution to agriculture, particularly in Henderson County and all the hard work he did to establish relationships with fruit and vegetable growers in our area.
Gerber Asheville’s standards of quality would not have been the same without Keith’s meticulous work with the Department of Agriculture as well as state and local entities.
He and his kind will be missed.
Sincerely,
Pam Benes
