Ambers Holmes Capps

Ambers Holmes Capps, 91, of 61 Sherwood Forest Road, Arden, died
Monday, Dec. 21, 1998 at his residence.
He was born on the Biltmore Estate, Oct. 10, 1907, the son of the late
James Frederick and Dolly Capps.
He was a Navy veteran of W.W. II, a member of Biltmore Masonic
Lodge #446 and a member of the Welders and Pipefitters Union #421 in
Charleston, SC.
He is survived by his wife, Daphne Walker Capps; son, Ambers Holmes
'Chip' Capps, Jr. of Arden; three step-children, Pamela Seay of Sandy
Springs, SC, Charles Taylor, III of Leicester, Connie Taylor of Asheville; a
brother, Maney Rickman Capps of Statesville; 5 step-grandchildren; 4
step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by a daughter, Trudy Capps Roberts in 1996.
A memorial service will be held 2 pm Wednesday in Arden First Baptist
Church conducted by the Rev. Stephen Summers.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Arden First Baptist
Church, 3839 Sweeten Creek Road, Arden, NC 28704.
