James Calvin Creasman, 97, of 112 Azalea Avenue, Swannanoa, formerly of Hi-Alta Avenue, Asheville, died Sunday, January 24, 2010, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Hospice Solace Center. Mr. Creasman was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Fred Owen and Mary Creasman. He was retired from the Asheville Hosiery Mill and he was a member at The Chapel. He was married to Irene Flynn Creasman who died in 2000, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vivian Rogers. He is survived by three daughters, Dot Jones of Swannanoa, with whom he made his home for the past seven years, Lillian Keffee of Fort Mill SC, and Joan Robbins and her husband, W.A. Robbins, of Candler; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will held at 3:00 PM Tuesday January 26, 2010 at The Chapel Church on Hi-Alta Avenue in Asheville with the Rev. Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.

  4. Dot, I know this has been a very tough time for you for awhile now. You can be comforted in the knowledge that you were a devoted daughter and gave him the best care possible. You’ll miss him, I know this personally, but he is at peace at last.
    I felt he was like a father to me, and he’ll always have a special place in my heart. My prayers are with you and your family.
