Claude M. Myers, 94, of Asheville, died
Wednesday, Oct.. 21, 1998 at his residence.

A native of Coldwater, Kansas, he was the son
of the late Harvey Edward and Ethel Von Schriltz
Myers.  His first wife, the late Ruth Evelyn Taylor
Myers, died in 1972 and he was also preceded in
death by a son, Charles Edward Myers.

He had been a resident of Asheville since 1973
and a member of the Trinity United Methodist
Church.  He was a former resident of Dodge
City, Kansas, where he was a 50 year member
and past president of the Dodge City Lions Club;
a Life Member and past Exalted Ruler of Dodge
City Lodge # 1406 of the Benevolent and
Protective Order of Elks; past Commander of
Dodge City Commandery #35; member of St.
Bernard Lodge #222 A.F. & A.M.; Dodge City
Chapter #75 Royal Arch Masons and Dodge City
Council #17 Cryptic Masons.  
For 43 years he was Secretary-Treasurer and
manager of the Kansas Abstract & Investment
Company in Dodge City.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Taylor
Biggers Myers; two sons, Robert Max Myers of
Deer Trail, Colorado, James T. Myers of Dodge
City; a step-daughter, Gina Parham of Asheville;
a step-son, William T. Biggers of Asheville;  a
brother, Harvey Myers of Sublette, Kansas; 10
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 7 great-
great-grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.
Graveside services, with Masonic Rites, will be
at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, Kansas
at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 26, 1998 conducted
by the Rev. Mike Gardner under the direction of
the Swaim Funeral Home.
