Buna Chappelear Tow

Buna Chappelear Tow, 87, formerly of Salola
Street, Asheville, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998.

A native of Toccoa, Georgia, she was a
resident of Asheville for the past 65 years.  She
was the daughter of the late Rubin and Cordie
Sheriff Chappelear and wife of the late Carl F.
Tow, Jr., who died in 1969.  She was also
preceded in death by a sister, May Bell Russell,
two brothers, Herschel and Dan Chappelear and
a nephew, Willard Swilling.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church,
a retired employee of Rogers Hosiery Mill,
Phelps and most recently the Buncombe County
Health Department.

She is survived by a brother, Clarence
Chappelear and a number of nieces and
nephews.

Services will be at 3 pm Thursday in the chapel
of Groce Funeral Home conducted by the Rev.
Robert E. Harris.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn
Memorial Park.  

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to
the service Thursday.
