Denvis Talton Daniel, 90, of 100 Riceville Rd., Asheville, formerly of Haywood County,
died Monday, September 21, 1998 in a local nursing facility.
A native of Buncombe County he was the son of the late William Curtis and Laura
Neighbors Daniel and husband of the late Louise Griffin Daniel. He was a Army Air Corp
Veteran of WW II and served in the Army National Guard. He retired in 1973 from
Stencil Aero-engineering, was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church and
attended Clyde Central United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Medford Daniel of Waynesville; daughter and son-in-
law Charles and Laura “Libby” Daniel Smith of Asheville; a step-son John Medford of
Elizabethton, TN; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Oak Hill United Methodist Church
Cemetery with the Reverend James Thurman officiating. The family will receive friends
9:30 to 10:30 am Thursday at Groce Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Charles Smith,
Drew Smith, Mark Smith, David Smith, Matt Adams and Terry Michaels.
