Services for George B. Parks, who died July 26th will be held 3 pm Wednesday, the 29th in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Parks was retired from the U.S. Navy and the Merchant Marines with the rank of First Mate.
He is survived by his wife, Freda Roland Parks; daughter, Barbara Parks of Cullowhee; two step-daughters, Juanita McHone of Asheville, Mary Parton of Black Mountain; three step-sons, John Carter, Dwight Carter of Candler, Bobby Carter of Asheville; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
