Raymond Thaddeus NeSmith, 68, of Autumn Breeze Dr., Fletcher, died on Friday, May 22, 2009, at the Elizabeth House.
A native of Savannah, GA, Mr. NeSmith was the son of step-father, Paul Richard Pitzer and the late Janie Evola Cobb Pitzer.
Mr. NeSmith had retired from the RMI Corp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Ellen Taylor NeSmith; sister, Diane Mills, of Waynesville; several children, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. NeSmith will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Brown's View United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ed Worley and George Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the church's cemetery.
His family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

Porky was one of a Kind.I will never forget the times at the camp ground all the tells he told about how he grew up and the hunting tells. He made us all laugh especailly me I would laugh till I was in tears.PORKY will be greatly missedby us all.We love you bunches.
