Walter Leo Blankenship, Jr., 48, of 1043 Kims Cove Road, Canton, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009.
A native of Mullens, WV, Mr. Blankenship was employed as a diesel mechanic for the city of Virginia Beach, VA and also worked for Haywood Co. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Sue, parents Walter Leo Blankenship, Sr. and Victoria Elizabeth Shrewsbury Blankenship, and brother, Jerry Blankenship.
The private funeral was Thursday, May 7, with burial at Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue assisted with the arrangements.
