Jeanette Mitchell McCarter

Jeanette Mitchell McCarter, 82, died Sunday, August 17, 2003, at Alamance Regional Medical Center, Burlington, NC. Mrs. McCarter was born May 14, 1921, to the late H.P. Mitchell and Polly Cassada Bates of Asheville. She was married to Arthur B. McCarter who died in 1958. She wasa member of the First Presbyterian Church of Asheville and was an employee of the law firm of Van Winkle, Buck, Wall Starnes and Davis. She is survived by a daughter, Polly M. Tucker; a son, Arthur B. McCarter, Jr. and his wife Kimberly H. McCarter; two sisters-in-law, Gaynelle M. Mastin and June B. McCarter; and four grandchildren, Robert W. Gregg, Richard S. Gregg, Russell C. Gregg, and Mitchell B. McCarter. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church.
